This course will provide you with the basic skills and understanding needed to work in the construction industry. You will get a practical introduction to a variety of skills as well as an introduction to the background knowledge required to succeed. All of these skills are in demand in the industry so you can decide which construction route suits you best.You will be introduced to a range of skills, including brickwork, plastering, woodwork, painting and decorating, and tiling.Good English and maths skills are essential for success in studying and for future employment prospects and so Croydon College ensures that these skills are developed in all learning opportunities.It’s also important to have good English and maths qualifications and so all students will study English and maths and work towards an appropriate level and type of qualification including GCSE. This will be part of all 16-18 year old students’ Study Programme alongside their main vocational or academic qualification and will be discussed with students at interview.Application for courses starting in September 2017 will open shortly.
