This 90-hour qualification is the next step towards becoming a counsellor. You learn about yourself, counselling theory, and the therapeutic relationship. You can study for: (a) 3 hours a week for one year (September to June) or (b) 1 day a week for one and a half terms (February to June). Because the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills runs from September to January, the February start date allows for immediate progression to the Level 3, (if you are successful in gaining a place).

You also transcribe and analyse an audiotape of yourself in the role of the listener. There is an external assessment which involves a written response to a DVD in class time.
