This 1 year, intensive Level 3 course is equivalent to 2 A levels. It will give you a secure foundation and insight into the wider performing arts sector and an introduction to circus skills. The course is run in partnership with the National Centre for Circus Arts. The majority of your learning (75%) will take place at the Hackney Community College campus. The National Centre for Circus Arts is responsible for running 6 circus modules over the year at their training space. To support your training, you will have access to extra enrichment activities and after hours fitness classes at the National Centre. Gym and fitness sessions will also be available at Hackney Community College. The course will provide you with a platform into higher education courses in circus, dance, performing or other academic studies, or into the performing arts industry. The course covers a range of performing arts units that support your development in acting, dancing and movement and introduces you to circus disciplines including acrobatics, manipulation, aerial and equilbristics. Entrance is by application and audition.
