This Programme will be offered at times throughout the academic year which runs from September 2014 to July 2015. Learners will work through competence based units where they will demonstrate their practice and knowledge whilst working with their trainer/ assessor. Learners will work towards: Competency: Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England (QCF). Technical Certificate: Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care (QCF). Literacy and Numeracy: Fulfilled by completion of Maths and English at an appropriate level. ERR: Employment Rights and Responsibilities. PLTS: Personal Learning and Thinking Skills. All qualification elements must be achieved to complete the apprenticeship framework. There are a number of mandatory units in the workplace to be completed. Apprentices will be required to study a number of optional units linked to specific industry requirements. There is an expectation that candidates will undertake personal study in order to demonstrate knowledge of the subject area, and compile a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate their competence.
