This Programme will be offered at times throughout the academic year which runs from September 2015 to July 2016. To register your interest please contact Support Services: Broadstairs - 01843605062 (or email supportservices.broadstairs@eastkent.ac.uk) This Programme will include: Literacy/ Numeracy/ICT: Fulfilled by completion of Maths and English at an appropriate level ERR: Employment Rights & Responsibilities PLTS: Personal Learning and Thinking Skills All qualification elements must be achieved to complete the Apprenticeship Framework. The Study Programme will include the NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Instructing Exercise and Fitness and the Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Knowledge component. Level 2 NVQ Diploma will be studied in the workplace and consists of the following mandatory units: Anatomy and physiology for exercise Work with clients to help them to adhere to exercise and physical activity Reflect on and develop own practice in providing exercise and physical activity Principles of exercise, fitness and health Promote health, safety and welfare in active leisure and recreation Additional units: Gym pathway: Plan and prepare gym-based exercise, Instruct and supervise gym-based exercise. Level 2 Diploma Exercise, Health and Fitness Instruction will be taught at East Kent College's Broadstairs campus and units studied will include: Mandatory Units: Health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment Anatomy and physiology for exercise Know how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity Principles of exercise, fitness and health Planning gym-based exercise Instructing gym-based exercise Leading a healthy lifestyle Factors affecting participation in sport and physical activity
