If you are a graduate looking to move into teaching in the compulsory and post-compulsory sector, then this is the course for you. Our one year pre-service programme is run in partnership with the University of East London (UEL). Over the year, you will explore the theoretical, sociological and practical aspects of becoming a good teacher. Whatever your specialist area of study, you could pass on your knowledge and expertise to other people. You will learn as you teach through a supported teaching placement which is underpinned by the taught elements of the course. Your studies will include the following topics: - the psychological background to planning teaching and learning; - managing student behaviour; - supporting students with specific needs; - educational policies and procedures; - how to manage the learning environment; - developing resources and approaches to teaching and learning.
