The Accounting modules will cover the basic principles of double-entry bookkeeping, the manual recording of day-to-day transactions into the daybooks and ledgers as well as the balancing-off of accounts and extraction of trial balances. The SAGE module will provide an opportunity for learners to see how those operations are carried out using one of the most widely used computer packages in the UK. Basic Costing will provide an introduction to Cost and Management Accounting. Working Effectively in Accounts and Finance looks at some of the administrative aspects of working in an accounts or office environment. Topics covered include scheduling/prioritisation of work, teamwork and office communication.
