You will work in a practical environment with workshop tools and equipment, building skills and techniques in the following areas of the industry: - Body Repair Processes - Routine Cooling and Lubrication System Checks - Routine Braking System Checks - Routine Wheel and Tyre Checks - Routine Vehicle Checks - Basic Vehicle Valeting - Light Vehicle Construction - Principles of Engine Components and Operation - Principles of Light Vehicle Steering and Suspension Systems - Principles of Component Fitting You will also study to develop an understanding of motor vehicle workshop safety and the retail automotive maintenance and repair industry. If you have not yet achieved a grade C (or above) in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade D) or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade E or below).
