A Level maths is where you can really see where maths can be used in the real world. It provides the building blocks to many Further Education courses such as Engineering, Economics and many Science-based subjects. It also opens doors in the work place, as some employers seek more than GCSE maths. In terms of future earnings students who take A Level maths typically earn ten percent more than students without it. In the Maths A Level, you will build on the skills already developed at GCSE, with an emphasis on Algebra and Graphs, and Trigonometry. You will potentially learn new skills in Discrete maths and develop skills in Statistics. The Mechanics element of the A Level course very much follows on from what is covered in GCSE Physics.
