This course is the follow-up to Part 1: Peer Mentoring Concepts and will build on the knowledge gained by applying these to practice. You will explore the communication skills needed to work as a peer mentor, learn what reflective listening is, practice listening and questioning techniques that help to ensure the client has been heard and discuss some of the barriers to listening. You will reflect on what type of listener you are, consider how to promote boundaries within a mentoring session and learn about the purpose and importance of supervision. You will also get the opportunity to role play mentoring scenarios in a safe, encouraging and inclusive environment.
