The course focuses both on both traditional photography practice and digital work. It includes master classes and workshops run by internationally renowned photographers like Bruce Smith and Andrew Sanderson. The course has a large amount of practical work, which is supported by written work. You will study a range of subject areas including: Darkroom application Design methods Computer applications including image manipulation and desktop publishing Experimental imagery Location techniques Special studio techniques You will also study a range of core art and design modules including: Drawing development Historical and contextual understanding Visual communication Art & Design exploration, application and realisation A short work placement makes up part of the course. Previous students have worked with the Southport Visiter, gaining real time industry experience. You will also have the opportunity to enter many photography competitions and gain awards to sit alongside your qualification.
