The A level sociology specification comprises of 3 components each of which are worth 33.3%. Component 1: Education with Theory and Methods This consists of a 2 hour exam with the questions on Education worth 50 marks, the questions on Methods in Context worth 20 marks and the questions on Theory and Methods worth 10 marks. Component 2: Topics in Sociology Also consists of a 2 hour exam with sections A and B worth 40 marks each. Section A is Families and Households and section B is Beliefs in Society. Component 3: Crime and Deviance with Theory and Methods Is a 2 hour exam with questions on Crime and Deviance worth 50 marks and question on Theory and Methods worth 30 marks.
