Glasswork - bowls - fusing and slumping

This course will provide you with the basic knowledge of slumping and fusing to create at least one bowl incorporating various fusing techniques. You will explore shape, form and texture using both traditional and contemporary processes.

These may include: observation, completion of an Individual Learning Plan which will be updated regularly, evaluation of work samples, question and answer sessions, photographs of projects to record achievement presented on Moodle. Entry requirements

A small charge is included in the fee for basic materials and where appropriate a charge has been included for use of specialist equipment. Learners will be expected to purchase all drawing equipment, your own fusing glass, kiln paper and any other specialist materials required for projects. This will be discussed with the course tutor and will not be covered in the course materials fee. Please do not purchase anything before your first lesson unless requested to do so. No liability can be accepted for expenses incurred for a course cancelled/altered at short notice. Learners are welcome to bring in their own slumping moulds if they wish; these moulds must not measure more than 30cm in length, width or diameter.
