What is it? Professional practice in garment construction, fashion illustration, fashion design, fashion photography, wearable art, fashion promotion, advertising and branding. You will develop a personal and exciting approach as you progress. What will I study? During your first year you will study the following: research trips; creative textile processes; exploration of unconventional materials; garment construction/ alterations; fashion illustration; photography; brands and packaging and visual merchandising. During your second year you will undertake the following: production of fashion fabrics; fashion manipulation; fashion promotion and advertising; fashion marketing; magazine design; a research essay; a live brief opportunity; working with the community; garment construction and design and exhibition opportunities. Assessment. Assessment will mainly consist of nine unit over the two year, two out of the nine units will be externally assessed. Where does it lead? Students progress on to a wide variety of fashion and design related study and careers including; fashion design, fashion promotion, fashion marketing and advertising, fashion management, fashion buying, retail, visual merchandising, fashion branding, costume design, fashion journalism, stylist, fashion fabric design, fashion accessory design, window dresser, interior design and textiles design.
