English Functional Skills - Entry 2

You will practice your communication skills within your group. You will develop your overall reading, speaking and listening and writing skills to help you in everyday literacy. Yes. Before you can enrol on this course, you need to have an interview and take an Initial Assessment test Class work will sometimes be in pairs or small groups, and sometimes as a whole group. Your tutor will also work with you individually. You will be given homework on a regular basis. You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made. Your tutor will give you verbal feedback as a group during the session, and written feedback on paper exercises you do. You will decide individual learning goals with your tutor and see your progress over the term by keeping a folder of work. There will be informal tests and practice exams. You will be able to study for the 3 parts of the EDEXCEL Functional English at Entry Level 2 depending on your initial assessment and diagnostics during the course. The 3 sections consist of English Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing exams to achieve the full qualification You will be able to talk to your tutor in one to one meetings about your learning during tutorials. Your tutor will ask for your feedback as a group at different times during the session and in course reviews. You will be able to formally record your views on the course at the end by completing an evaluation form. You may also complete SFA and OFSTED surveys. It is very important for you to attend your classes regularly. If you are unable to attend a class, please notify your tutor. If you do not come to classes during the first week or fail to attend for two consecutive classes without informing your tutor, you may lose your place of study.
