MS Office skills - Excel formulae and functions (Intermediate)

Learn how to apply Formulae and functions to MS Excel, to get the most out of your data. Working knowledge of MS Excel is essential for this course. This short course is ideal for anyone who has experience using MS Word and wants to explore more advanced functions. All IT courses require an informal interview with an IT tutor before enrolling onto them and an initial assessment. We will use step by step instructions, with demonstration where appropriate, to help you learn. We will check your progress using a range of methods including self assessment, hands on tasks and projects. You will have a Learner Diary that we will use with you to record your learning outcomes and progress towards them. Some courses will have online support specific to the class, with online video demonstrations and information sheets for you to download prior to the start of the class. You will have the opportunity to comment on your learner diary where the course tutor will give you written feedback on you work to date and set targets for your next session. The tutor will also give you verbal feedback individually within the class. You will have the opportunity to request tutorials on accredited courses and informal feedback on non accredited courses. At enrolment you will be given the opportunity to inform us about the process with an enrolment satisfaction survey form. On your course you will be given a learner diary where you can comment each week on the learning you have achieved within the class. You will have the opportunity to complete an end of course learner feedback form at the end of your learning. You can also complete a "Complements, Suggestions and Complaints" form, available from HALS receptions, you are also welcome to call the following number 020 8489 2596 asking to speak with the IT coordinator. Learners will be expected to complete at least 2 hours a week of self study.

Entry requirements

You are welcome to bring your own device to the class. Access to a computer with internet access is essential for completing most IT courses, if you do not have a computer at home, you can use any of Haringey Library's computers for free or our own in the chill out zone for HALS learners.A copy of adobe software on your computer would be useful, version CS2 is available free from Adobe.com or Microsoft office, however there are similar free software you could down load for free at openoffice.com Equipment required You are welcome to bring your own device to the class.
