AQA RS is examined by two 3hr written exams, of which both have equal weighting. Component 1: Philosophy of Religion and Ethics assesses students on their knowledge, understanding and ability to analyse and evaluate. It is split into 2 sections. Section 1 content includes: argument for the existence of God, evil & suffering, religious experience & language, miracles & life after death. Section 2 focuses on ethical theories, human and animal life & death, Meta ethics, free will & moral responsibility, conscience, Bentham and Kant. Component 2 is the study of religion and dialogues. WBS studies Christianity as their chosen religion. Section A includes the following topics: sources of wisdom & authority, ultimate reality, the afterlife, key moral principles, expression of religious identity, religion in regards to gender, sexuality, science, secularisation and religious pluralism. Section B explores philosophy of religion and Section C explores ethical studies.
