The Edexcel Level 3 BTEC is divided into 4 units. Unit 1 explores how the skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular & respiratory systems function, as well as the fundamentals of the energy systems. Unit 2 is Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport & well-being. Students explore client screening and lifestyle assessment, fitness training methods and nutrition programming. It is assessed by externally marked coursework. Unit 3 is regarding Professional Development in the Sports Industry, exploring the knowledge and skills required for different careers in the sports industry. This is assessed by internally marked coursework. Unit 4 is Sports Leadership. Students study what makes a good leader, the different capacities of this role and the leadership skills & techniques needed when leading activities. This is also assessed by internally marked coursework.
