The AQA Design and Technology course has three major components: Paper 1 (-) Technical Principles, Paper 2 (-) Designing & Making Principles and the Non Examination Assessment NEA. They are weighted 30%, 20% and 50% respectively. Paper 1 is 2h30 and Paper 2 is 1h30. The NEA is a 45 hour, substantial, single design-and-make task. Students will gain a broad understanding of materials & their applications, testing, manufacture, commercial practice, new technologies, and the methodology of design.
