BTEC Music is a specialist qualification that focuses on the practical and employment aspects of the music world within a vocational context. Students explore a variety of practical based performance techniques including improvisation, listening skills, performance styles, music technology and production. By the end of each unit they will understand how to apply these ideas creatively and take part in performances within the school and outside. There is a flexibility built into the BTEC which allows students the opportunity to focus on the areas of music they are most interested in. There are a number of core units that every student will work on including Planning a Music Project and Music Performance Techniques.
