This is a 10 week course delivering the Active Citizen’s programme in-line with British Council’s international initiative of which we are a national partner. Content focuses on identity, community, and intercultural dialogue helping learners develop tools to empower, educate, and support communities to deliver social action projects. Learners will – • Explore the theme of identity, learning more about themselves and ways in which they can improve their mental health. • Meet with and learn about other members of their community, promoting cohesion and shared interests. • Explore themes and tools of intercultural dialogue, developing tools to combat racism and intolerance within communities. • Develop skills to research, plan, deliver, and evaluate community action projects, developing Maths, English and ICT skills, spread the message of the initiative, promote community cohesion and enrich/expand the local voluntary sector. • Intercultural learning about diverse cultures through learning and engagement with a local social action project.
