This course follows the Computer Science pathway and covers a wide range of subjects including: Core Units The Online World Technology Systems A Digital Portfolio Computing in the Workplace Mandatory Units Software Development Computational Thinking Multimedia Product Development Software System Development Specialist Units Installing and Maintaining Computer Hardware Installing and Maintaining Computer Software The course will be delivered through a variety of mediums including individual and group assignments, practical application of classroom based teaching and industry related projects. Two of the core units are externally assessed via an online test. Students who have not gained a C grade in GCSE English and maths will need to study for a resit alongside their main program of study to improve their grade. To enhance employment opportunities the course may also have additional qualifications built into the programme.
