Fabrication is the term we use to cover a wide range of occupations including: Welders, Platers, Sheet Metal Workers, Pipe Fitters. Fabricator/welders are essential in all fields of engineering and manufacturing, and need to be able to work in all environments inside, outside, as well as under water! Our Fabrication and Welding Department offer learners an authentic manufacturing environment with dedicated training facilities. What will you be learning? This course will cover both the theoretical and practical aspects of fabrication and welding work in our dedicated work shop facilities. Units you will study include: Electrical Safety, Maintenance, Communication, Installation, Testing Domestic Installations. As part of these units you will be taught how to use a range of hand tools and testing equipment. You will learn: Electrical, Mechanical and fabrication applications Health and Safety Routine servicing of equipment and systems Wiring electrical circuits Fitting techniques and using hand tools Engineering principles You will also gain a Certificate in Engineering Technology and Multi-skilled Applications. The programme will include mandatory requirements of an Apprenticeship framework; an NVQ, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills in English, maths and ICT.
