This course is ideal if you would like to develop a career in working with children and need a starting point. Develop skills to help early years professionals in supporting children with their learning and how to maintain a safe and interesting environment. As this course requires a good level of English, you will undertake an assessment during the first class to confirm your place. After successfully completing this course, you can progress on to the Children and Young People's Workforce Level 2 Certificate, for which you will need to have recently completed a minimum of 140 hours of voluntary work in a Childcare setting, and then maintain a minimum of 14 hours a week during the course. Alternatively, if you are not ready for this, you could enrol on to the Preparing to Work in Childcare course, which covers some of the knowledge from the mandatory units of the Children and Young People's Workforce Level 2 Certificate.
