Are you interested in a career outdoors? This is intended for both students considering volunteering work or intending on making a career change in the countryside and environment sector. Our friendly tutors will help you develop new skills and experience in practical countryside skills such as hedging, tree planting, stone walling, path laying as well as habitat surveys and animal and plant surveys. This is a hands-on practical course assessed by short written and observational tests. You will attend one day per week for 24 weeks. To do this course you will need basic literacy and numeracy skills. When you successfully complete this award you could go on to the Level 2 Certificate in Horticulture or progress onto a short Land-based Employment Programme.
