This course is ideal for those who wish to develop an understanding of practical outdoor and adventurous activities. The course includes theory and practical study with a number of outdoor activities taking place on the college estate and at local facilities. Professional and vocational qualifications lead to accreditation be it from an examining body such as City & Guilds or Edexcel or professional recognition such as from Construction Skills or Lantra. The Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) recognises vocational achievement through the attainment of credits for units of study and for whole qualifications. The smallest qualification is the Award then the Certificate and the largest is the Diploma although there are other intermediate qualifications also available. The duration of study will typically reflect the size of the qualification.
