This course provides a basic introduction to practical and theoretical aspects of arboriculture. You will study tree and shrub identification ground based arboriculture operations and disposing of tree residues as well as plant and soil science and visual tree assessments. Professional and vocational qualifications lead to accreditation be it from an examining body such as City & Guilds or Edexcel or professional recognition such as from Construction Skills or Lantra. The Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) recognises vocational achievement through the attainment of credits for units of study and for whole qualifications. The smallest qualification is the Award then the Certificate and the largest is the Diploma although there are other intermediate qualifications also available. The duration of study will typically reflect the size of the qualification.
