Entry Level Certificate in Independent Living Entry 2

UPDATED 20161122 12:31:00

Independent Living provides students with a supported transition to college life. The programme's focus is on building personal and social skills, independence and employability. Students benefit from a project based approach, using enterprise and vocational options in a range of subjects. In their first year, students focus on the development of studentship and induction into the college environment, and personal and independence skills. This includes units on personal care and grooming, managing money, working as part of group and healthy eating, amongst other topics. Students continuing within the programme will progress in following years to an agreed destination, such as supported/paid employment, independent living, making a contribution and being active in their local community.
