The FdSc Creative Computing (formerly Digital Media Technologies) programme has been designed to support the buoyant, fast moving creative industries sector that is changing and developing yearly in all areas. Our Foundation Degree in Creative Computing takes account of this growth and allows for more flexible opportunities in the wide variety of industries and media. From the beginning students have the freedom to concentrate on career options in computer programming, web technologies, interface design, visual storytelling and/or interactive entertainment (developing games content). On achieving a set of base skills students will be encouraged to take things further and develop their understanding through the production of a series of practical projects that require them to adopt increasingly creative solutions while taking on greater management of the processes. All students will go on to develop 3D animation skills and this will provide a strong entry point to a specialist growth area of production. Throughout the foundation degree there will be opportunities to communicate confidently in a variety of forms and students will develop independent thinking, self management, research, analytical and teamwork skills.
