This course offers students a broad experience of the key business functions, and will allow students to focus on one of these in the final examined unit. Topics look at how businesses grow to become as sucessful as Nike or Nissan; why people start their own businesses; how businesses are set up and organised to how they manage their finances and motivate their workers. Other areas include marketing and marketing strategies; and external influences facing businesses. Assessment will be by two equally weighted examinations, the first of which will focus on small to medium sized businesses, where as the second will examine businesses operating on a national scale.
