Btec Early Years Education (EYE)

This is a professional qualification that offers opportunities for both professional and academic development. Theoretical studies and professional skill development will be conducted during the three days of study, whilst the remaining two days will be spent gaining valuable practical experience in a range of placements. Course costs: Students are required to be DBS checked and gain a paediatric first aid qualification during the course; students are expected to meet these additional costs. Purchase of the course text book is also recommended. Due to the size of the course, students will not be able to study any other A levels alongside this course.

This is assessed externally through a 90 minute exam. • Unit 2-Development of Children’s Communication, Literacy and Numeracy Skills. This is assessed externally through assignment task. • Unit 3- Play and Learning. This is assessed internally through assignment tasks. • Unit 4-Enquiries into Current Research in Early Years Practice. This is assessed externally through a research task. • Unit 5- Keeping Children Safe. This is assessed internally through assignment tasks. • Unit 6-Children’s Physical Development, Care and Health Needs. This is assessed internally through assignment tasks. • Unit 7- Children’s Personal, Social and Emotional Development. This is assessed internally through assignment tasks. • Unit 8-Working with Parents and Others in early Years. This is assessed internally through assignment tasks. • Unit 9- Observation, Assessment and Planning. This is assessed internally through assignment tasks. • Unit 10-Reflective Practice. This is assessed internally through assignment tasks. • Unit 11-The Early Years Foundation Stage. This is assessed internally through assignment tasks.
