Depending on your area of interest through this course you can either follow a Fashion and Textiles or Product Design route. The content of the course in areas are similar, crossing design thinking through specialisms with areas of specialism focused tasks. The main focus of this course is to gain students understanding of how to apply an iterative design process to their design and technology practice. Students will learn how to demonstrate their knowledge understanding and skills through interrelated iterative processes that ‘explore’ needs create solutions and ‘evaluate’ how well the needs have been met. This learning will equip learners with lifelong skills of problem spotting and problem solving and enable them to apply their learning to different social, moral and commercial contexts.
