New specification for September AS History (OCR) King's Cross Centre 1 year - Year 1 Level 3 What will I study? The first year programme consists of two modules: - Britain from 1783-1853 during an 'Age of Revolution': examining the protests, reactions and reforms in this period including a focus on the role of Peel as Prime Minister. - Germany from 1919-1963: examining the nature of change in German political and social life making the transition from democracy to dictatorship and eventually division into 2 states. A2 History (OCR) King's Cross Centre 1 year - Year 2 Level 3 What will I study? During the second year of A Level History, you will undertake an independent investigation, which is an extended essay on any topic of your own choice. The second part is a unit on Civil Rights in the USA from 1865 to 1992. For this unit which leads to an exam at the end, you will study African Americans, Native Americans, Trade Unions and women examining how progress was made during this time period. There is a special focus on Black Power and on civil rights during the 'gilded age'.
