Biology is the study of life, playing a crucial role in our everyday existence. Advances in new technologies, such as recombinant DNA and genomics have made this subject more interesting than ever. We study the processes of life from complete organismal functioning, through to the organisation of cells into tissues and organs, and cellular and molecular interaction. It is a science subject, so practical work is an important part of the course. You will develop essential knowledge and understanding of different areas of Biology and how they relate to each other. The aim is to develop interest in, and enthusiasm for Biology, including developing an interest in further study and careers in Biology.
