Introduction to Beekeeping

This classroom based course will be of interest to those who have just started or are contemplating starting beekeeping. Coupled with the practical beekeeping it gives a good grounding for those wishing to take the basic examination of BBKA. COURSE CONTENT * Types of Bees * Natural History of Bees * The colony and how it functions * Equipment and care of bees * Types of hives * Routine Management * Bee plants and sources of nectar and pollen * Honey extraction * Bee Diseases Candidates can progress on to the Practical or advanced beekeeping courses. Please be aware that these courses are extremely popular and we advise you to book early in order to avoid disappointment . All places are allocated on a first come first served basis.
