The Degree in Sport Development & Business has been designed for those wishing to develop a career in a sport related profession such as coaching, sport development officer, sport business management and sport, health promotion / fitness.Please note that tuition fees for this course are charged annually - the fee of 4,500 applies to each year of the three year course. Click here for further information about Student Finance. This course is designed to offer students the opportunity to study Sport Development and Business in a theoretical and practical setting. Students will have the opportunity to examine policy, research and practice in Sport Development & Business. Experience will be gained in the real work settings as well as learning through lectures and practical sessions. Students will research specific topics and themes directly relevant to their work/career development. Our aim is to offer a flexible approach to learning. Each year will be divided into three terms of approximately 12 weeks and students will complete 120 credits. College attendance is for one afternoon and evening a week (1:30pm -7:30pm) over three years. The overall hours that you attend the course are not dissimilar to what you would experience at University. We teach for 34 weeks per year, many University teaching years are much shorter than this e.g. 22 weeks per year.We use a 'blended approach to learning' where students are supported through a mixture of formal lectures, seminars, online materials and one to one tutorial support. Personal tutorials and assessment coaching sessions are held at mutually convenient times outside taught hours. In year 2 you will be expected to take on an increased responsibility for your learning and become an independent learner making increased use of online learning as well as formal taught sessions.As previously mentioned a blended approach to learning is adopted and some sessions may be delivered online via the colleges virtual learning environment
