The GCSE Science A course is spilt into the 3 main areas of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Each of these are broken down further to cover a wide range of scientific concepts and their applications in everyday life. All students, regardless of ability, to gain a good grounding in Science and who want to gain a single GCSE in Science. Science is about discovering and increasing our understanding of how the physical world works. Science uses observation and experimentation of natural phenomena to collect and analyse information to explain how things work. This means that the subject is as diverse as the Universe itself, and includes study of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. -:Explain/describe how Science relates to the world in which we live -:Apply scientific knowledge and practical skills to new situations. -:Apply knowledge and understanding of how decisions about Science are made regarding those that raise ethical issues -:Undertake a task and make measurements, and then process and evaluate data -:Show how scientific evidence is collected and its relationship with scientific explanations and theories -:Explain/describe the impact of scientific developments or processes on individuals, communities or the environment
