This is a two year course for people wishing to train to become professional counsellors. The course content consists of: Year 1 . Advanced counselling skills, . person.centred counselling theory and practice, . comparisons with other counselling models, . ethical and professional issues, and . personal development. Year 2 . Diversity, . supervision, . research, . personal development, . integrating theory into practice.
Name: Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling level 4 Qualification title: QT7 Qualification type: Other regulated/accredited qualification Assessment Continuous internal and external assessment involving case studies, observed practice, presentations and academic assignments. You will be required to submit a portfolio at the end of the course, linked to your placement, for external assessment. There is a two night, weekend residential each year for all counselling students. You will also carry out a counselling placement of 100 hours of one.to.one work with clients; you will be supervised on your placement to meet the course requirements.
