A Level Drama & Theatre Studies

UPDATED 20161115 16:36:32

A Level Drama starts of studying plays through practical workshops. These practical workshops give students the opportunity to develop their understanding of the characters, themes and social, cultural, historical and political context. Students will perform a role in a monologue or duologue and a group production of a play. A number of students go on to study other subjects and use their experience in A Level Drama to support their work in analysis, people and presentation skills, self confidence, problem solving, project development and design. Students have gone on to study both academic subjects such as English and Theatre Studies, Law or Social Sciences and vocational subjects such as Design for Theatre, Acting, Film and Television.
