A Level Philosophy & Ethics

The Philosophy and Ethics A Level is a well regarded and highly recognised subject which can support a number of professions. Most obviously, it develops the skills needed to successfully argue and so many people who have studied Philosophy will go on to work in Law or Politics. In Year 12, students are introduced to a number of philosophical and ethical issues including the following topics: The Teleological Argument for the Existence of God, The Cosmological Argument for the Existence of God, The Problem of Evil, Consequentialist Ethics and The Ethics of War. In Year 13, students develop their philosophical knowledge further looking at the following topics: The Ontological Argument for the Existence of God, The Arguments for Atheism, The Problem of Religious Language, Deontological Ethics and Virtue Ethics.
