This qualification is aimed at candidates who are in an Associate Teacher role or would like an introduction to teaching in the sector and who are able to teach at least 30 hours on a group or one-to-one basis. The qualification is designed to contribute towards the skills, knowledge and understanding for the Lifelong Learning Sector (LLUK) Professional Standards and provides a route for progression to the Certificate in Education (Cert. Ed.) or Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). you need an appropriate qualification (at level 3 or above) or substantial experience in the subject area in which you intend to teach, you must have arranged at least 30 hours of Teaching Practice, spread over the duration of the course when you can teach your specialist subject to learners aged over 16yrs. This can be on a voluntary basis. For the purpose of the course it is not necessary to have taught before, you must have the potential and ability to complete a level 3 qualification involving some academic research and substantial reading and writing.
