Photographic makeup covers both the use of makeup in connection with catwalk models, photographic models and the developing industry in providing members of the public with combined hair styling and make up as a prelude to producing celebrity type photographs. The importance of hygiene and skin care is paramount. The makeup is planned taking into account the needs of the client, photographer, director or model. Face shape, features and skin tone is considered and how appearance can be changed by specified makeup techniques. A design plan is agreed to meet the objectives and take account of clothing and other factors. Cosmetic products must be known in relation to skin types and contexts and the application of false eyelashes is included. Makeup must be applied with regard to a range of variables and taking into account factors involved with photography with different film and ambient light.
