Cambridge Technical IT Level 3 Duration: 2 Years What will I Study? This modular course provides an excellent extension to vocational ICT courses studied at GCSE. This qualification is designed to offer you an alternative route into higher education or employment. This course has been developed to recognise learners skills, knowledge and understanding of Information and Communication Technology functions, environments and operations. The learners carry out a range of tasks that have been designed to recognise their achievements in a modern, practical way that is relevant to the workplace. Syllabus Year 12: Unit 1 - Communication and employability skills for ICT Unit 2 - Information Systems Unit 19 - Advanced Spreadsheets Year 13: Unit 6 - E-commerce Unit 12 - Website Production Unit 23 - Database Design How will I be assessed? The syllabus contains 100% practical work. You will be required to produce six pieces of coursework in which you will use standard software packages such as Desktop Publishing, Spreadsheet, Database, Presentation Software, Web Page Authoring and Word Processing Entry Requirements Students should hold a minimum of 5 A* - C GCSE grades including English Language Progression The Cambridge Technical in ICT level 3 offer students a more in-depth look at ICT in the modern workplace, and give an insight into its role in specialist careers. As an alternative to similar exam-based courses, this qualification provides on-going learning and assessment of the practical skills and knowledge required to succeed in ICT related careers.
