This course provides you with occupational competence and enables you to work unsupervised or in a supervised capacity in a variety of childcare settings. You may also progression onto Higher Education. Successful completion will give you the new Early Years Educator Status. It is a two year course and includes placements in a range of childcare settings every week, as well as spending the remainder of the week at College. Subjects / Modules include: Child development; Play and learning; Physical development, physical care and health needs; Health and safety; Working with parents; Supporting children's communication; Supporting personal and emotional development; Safeguarding children; Supporting literacy and numeracy; Research project.
