Horticulture is for those working in one of the following roles relating to growing and maintaining plants: maintaining grounds used for sport and/or recreation; working in a garden centre setting selling plants and flowers to the public; or as a production worker working within glasshouses or on farms. As an Apprentice the route will be selected to match the job role and duties you are doing. On the Apprenticeship there is one specialist qualification, Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Horticulture. This includes both competence and knowledge. Elements will be achieved through completion of the mandatory and optional units. The choice of knowledge units will depend on the role decided at the start of the course. In addition you will study: Employee Rights and Responsibilities; Personal Learning and Thinking Skills; Functional Skills Level 1 in English and Maths.
