The Level 3 BTEC Business courses are designed to give a student a broad understanding of business issues within the UK and Europe. It encourages the student to plan, monitor and evaluate their work based on an imaginative programme of study. BTEC qualifications are highly regarded and are recognised by both employers and universities alike The vocational nature of the course allows students to develop problem solving skills, emphasising the use of IT, numeracy and good communication skills in line with the government functional requirement. It is an active course, supplemented by a period of work experience and vocational visits which assist in putting school based work in its appropriate context. It is ideal for students who prefer working on presentations and coursework, rather than taking formal exams at the end of their course.
