A Level: PAPER 1 : LISTENING, READING AND WRITING A 2 hour 30 minute examination worth 40% of the total A Level marks. PAPER 2 : WRITING A 2 hour examination worth 30% of the total A Level marks. PAPER 3 : SPEAKING A 21-23 minute examination worth 30% of the total A Level marks. What Will I Learn On This Course? AS topics: Social Issues and Friends, Artistic Culture, Grammar, Choice of film or literary text. A Level topics: Social Issues, Political and Artistic Culture and Grammar. You will continue to develop your language skills so that you can communicate with native speakers, both orally and in writing, at a high level. This will involve extending your understanding of grammar and increasing your knowledge of vocabulary to enable you to discuss current affairs and issues affecting young people. What Kind Of Person Studies This Course? In addition to being an obvious choice for those students who are keen and able linguists, an AS or A Level in French or German is an excellent companion subject for those taking Sciences and Humanities because it is a much sought after skill in the world of work. British companies are notoriously short of speakers of foreign languages and are actively seeking employees with qualifications not only directly related to their business, but who can offer additional skills. It is also possible to study two languages if you have done so to GCSE.
