The course is suitable for school leavers and adults who would like a career in one of Britain's Uniformed Public Services: * Army * Royal Navy * Royal Marines * Royal Air Force * Police Force * Ambulance Service * Fire Brigade * Paramedics * Customs and Excise * Prison Service * HM Coastguard * Health Service You will study the following core units: * Understanding Discipline * Leadership and Teamwork * Government Policies * Fitness Testing and Training for the Public Services * Citizenship and Diversity and the following specialist units: * Law and the Legal System * Planning an Event or Team Sport * Current and Media Affairs * Crime and Its Effects * Land Based Skills for the Outdoors * Custodial Care * International Organisations * Exercise, Health and Lifestyle * Outdoor and Adventurous Activities * Security Procedures in the Public Services * Volunteering in Public Services * Planning and Management of Major Incidents * Impact of War and Conflict * During the course there is a strong emphasis on outdoor activities and physical preparation. All LMC students will receive tutorial support.
