This course is taught in a number of different ways; students are expected to read widely outside of the taught time and discuss their learning. This develops an ability to think critically. Students study the relationship between different aspects of history, such as the political. economic, social and cultural dimensions. Throughout the first year students will study the period surrounding the War of the Roses 1445-1509 and Russia 1894-1941. This knowledge will be expanded on in the second year when students will study Tudor Foreign Policy 1485-1603. There is also personal study that must be completed.
