The BTEC Travel and Tourism course is for 2 years. The course will allow learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of how Travel and Tourism has grown both in this country and overseas. Students will have the opportunity to plan a Travel and Tourism project and investigate Travel and Tourism as a business.

Name: Travel and Tourism BTEC Qualification title: BTEC Level 3 Travel and Tourism Qualification type: GCE A/AS Level or equivalent Assessment Unit 1 - Investigating the travel and tourism sector In this unit you will develop your knowledge and understanding of the different sectors of travel and tourism and the organisations that operate within the industry. Unit 2 - The Business of Travel and Tourism Throughout this unit you will look at travel and tourism businesses and investigate the environment of the business and how it is run. Unit 3 - The UK as a destination During this unit you will build up your knowledge of The UK as a destination and will learn gateways, locations and geographical features around the UK. You will go on to look at inbound and domestic visitors of the UK and investigate their needs. Unit 4 - Customer Service in Travel and Tourism This unit is based on customer service within travel and tourism organisations. You will investigate how organisations make a first impression and how important this is to customers and employees. Unit 8- Long-Haul Destinations In this unit you will be looking at far away destinations and investigate the different types of holidays available at these destinations. Unit 19 - UK Visitor Attractions In this unit you will be investigating two visitor attractions - one manmade and the other natural. You will go on visits and research the products and services it offers, the visitor interpretation techniques and will be required to explain how the attraction appeals to different customer types.
